Homestay (Home Stay)
Hello. Our names are Simon and Ruth. If you come to stay with us we will be welcoming you to our home.
Homestay isn't like living in a hotel. Instead it's the experience of living as part of a family in the country you are visiting. We hope you will enjoy every moment of it.
Our accommodation is available to those coming to Cheltenham as an overseas student or as an intern with an internship in the area
The minimum stay period is two weeks. An exception to this rule is made for overseas students who are at school in Cheltenham and require accommodation during half-term holiday.
Our rooms
Our rooms are pleasant rooms most of which are singles. We can arrange a larger room to be set up as twin room if you require it. We also have a double room with en-suite shower room and view of the Cotswold Hills.
All our rooms are well-equipped and comfortable. Each room has good hanging space, convenient chest of drawers and a writing table which is suitable also as a computer desk. We also provide each room with a laundry basket and a towel rack. The rooms have good lighting and there's central heating for the colder months of the year.
Most of our rooms have internet access. Internet access is either by wifi (WLAN) or by network point (LAN). Of course, you will need to bring your laptop or notebook computer to take advantage of this.
Meals
Homestay accommodation includes breakfast and evening meal on weekdays and breakfast, lunch and evening meal at weekends.
Evening meals at Cheltenham Stay are cosmopolitan in character and eaten together as a family. They are prepared by your host mother, Ruth. Ruth is an exceptional cook who enjoys preparing dishes originating from many different nations. Rice is regularly on the table but so also is pasta and potatoes.
Breakfasts at Cheltenham Stay are generally English style with food laid out on the table for you to help yourself. Breakfast is available on weekdays between 7.30 and 8.45 am and at weekends between 8.00 am and 9.15 am. (Let Ruth know if you need to eat breakfast later or earlier than this).
Light lunches at weekends are made available in the dining room. Packed lunches at weekends can be provided for you by arrangement. This can be especially helpful if you are heading off all day on an outing.
Bathrooms
You will find a bathroom with shower very close to your room. Each bathroom is clean and well-presented. There are separate toilet and sink facilities available for times when the bathroom may be busy.
Serviced
Bed linen is provided and laundry facilities. The communal areas of the house - such as the bathroom, living room and dining room - are cleaned regularly so that all our guests can enjoy a clean and tidy living environment.
Our homestay accommodation has distinct advantages over simply renting a room. You know with us that your main living bills are all covered and you are assured of clean, tidy and homely surroundings at all times. You will enjoy living in a pleasant family setting.
Location
Our home is in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England and is conveniently located for getting to most study places - Inlingua, Gloucestershire College, University of Gloucestershire campus - and also the town centre.
